Adopting from RAIN

RAIN’s adoption processes for our pets can be a little more time consuming than other rescues or shelters.  We know that and understand our process is not for everyone.  We are doing our best to gather the information to place the correct pet with a forever home for that pet.  So that means we ask a lot of questions and require certain information to move forward with our process.

All adoptions require an application to be completed for the pet.  Applications can be found online at rescueanimalsinneed.org under Adoptable Pets.  Please do NOT falsify any information on your application.  If you provide false information, RAIN may immediately deny your application.  So please read through and answer honestly. Once your application is received, please give us 2 business days before calling or emailing for an update.  We get that everyone is excited but we are ALL volunteers that work jobs, have our own pets, and families.  We promise we will respond!

Once your application is reviewed you will receive an email with questions that we need answered.  While we don’t need a novel, one-word answers are not always the best.

Once you have responded to the questionnaire, we will check your references and contact you to set up a time for your home visit if required.

All of our adoptions require a signed contract and a non-refundable fee.  This makes clear the policies of the rescue for adoption and helps us care for the animals we have looking for homes within our rescue.  You will also need to show a government issued photo ID with your address at the time of adoption.  Adoption fees must be paid in Cash or Check ONLY.

Please note that if you are renting, you will need to provide a letter from your Landlord or Property Manager, signed with their contact information, stating that you may have the RAIN pet in your home (address noted in the letter) as well as any other additional pets that may already be in the home.  This is mandatory for all renters.  RAIN does not take phones calls or emails as permission to have a pet.
